Big Data Analytics, Strategic Analytics | Alteryx

Posted on by Brandon Klein

Overview Demos

Presenter: Damian Austin
Duration: 6 minutes

Blending Data Sources without IT
Description: This demo covers the process of blending data sources in Alteryx to produce an analytic data set that can then be fed into an analytic process such as predictive, spatial or statistical modeling. The demo also shows how simple it is to build an analytic workflow in Alteryx using the drag and drop tools with the design canvas, and then output into any required format or data store.

Presenter: Paul Ross & Damian Austin
Duration: 10 minutes

Cleansing Data and Enriching it for Customer Analytics
Description: This demo builds on the process of blending data by introducing the concept of cleaning datasources that are not ready for analysis. In this case the example of a Marketing Service Provider is used when they receive a file for enrichment that has multiple fields stored in a single column. Instead of waiting for the data warehouse team to fix this the demo shows a simple and automated approach of dealing with this directly in the same workflow.

Presenter: Paul Ross & Damian Austin
Duration: 11 minutes

Advanced Data Enrichment and Creating Analytic Applications
Description: Blending internal and external data using technologies such as fuzzy matching to get the most from data. Here a cleansed data file is enriched with proprietary data to create a new data file for analytics. Additionally, once a workflow has been created, it is packaged as a reusable analytic application to be used by business users.

Alteryx & Tableau Integration

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 9 minutes

Alteryx Enriched Tableau Dashboard
Description: See how to create rich visualizations in Tableau from a dataset created in Alteryx. Learn how to:
   • Geocode store and customer locations to point level
   • Join the customer and store location data
   • Calculate drive time distance for customers
Use Tableau to see customers within various drive time distances, append Mosaic segmentation to customer records and map which Mosaic segments are most served by each store location.

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 24 minutes

Cleansing and Preparing Data
Description: See how we easily create analytics workflows in Alteryx, by dragging and dropping datasets and analytics actions. With the Alteryx drag and drop workflow, see how to select data sources, cleanse and join the data.

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 12 minutes

Enriched Data and Advanced Analytics
Description: See how to enrich data and apply advanced analytics. In this demo you will see how to:
   • Sum sales data
   • Join sales and store addresses
   • Draw drive-time trade areas
   • Append third party demographic content
   • Apply a linear regression to predict total sales

Big Data Analytics

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 10 minutes

Accessing Big Data to Create Analytic Outputs
Description: This demo will highlight Alteryxs’ ability to connect to Big Data sources such as Hadoop or Teradata to create an analytic dataset based on certain criteria such as determining the number of customer transactions.

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 6 minutes

Blending Data Sources Without IT
Description: This demo covers the process of blending social media and other sources in Alteryx to produce an analytic data set that can then be fed into an analytic process such as predictive, spatial or statistical modeling. The demo also shows how simple it is to build an analytic workflow in Alteryx using the drag and drop tools with the design canvas, and then output into any required format or data store.

Presenter: Richard Snow
Duration: 5 minutes

Utilizing in-Database Analytics & Reporting
Description: This demo covers how Alteryx can be utilized at the center of the Teradata Unified Data Architecture to access data sources such as Teradata data warehouse and Aster data warehouse, to take advantage of the in-database analysis to create different reports base on the results.
