Syntopical Readings

Sometimes the module is called Syntopical Readings, but all of the readings will be metaphors. Sometimes all of the readings will be specialized business topics. Sometimes they'll be a mix, with a case study or two thrown in. As with other reading modules, Syntopical Readings is designed to help participants confront and consider solutions to the major issues they are facing. The Syntopical Readings module is also a major opportunity to expose participants to ideas and concepts that they may need in order to create effective solutions.

Metaphors

Metaphors is a reading module used to help the group deal with the issues that are associated with the central challenge of the design event. These issues are often so divisive or deep-seated that participants cannot see their way around them. Or sometimes they have lived with them so long that they are blind to them.

Case Studies is a reading module used to bring leading practices to the attention of the group. These leading practices are identified by listing the issues the group needs to confront in creating its solution.
